Privacy notice

HK Law is the data controller for ZAMU Defence under the Data Protection Act, 2019.

What we collect

Your phone number and name; photos of the charge sheet (which name other people, such as the complainant); the charges; your answers to our questions; and payment details from M-Pesa.

Why

Only to explain your case, prepare the packs you buy, check for conflicts of interest, take payment and contact you about your case. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

AI processing outside Kenya

The photos and your answers are sent to our AI provider, whose servers are outside Kenya, to read the charge sheet and prepare the explanation. We transfer them only with your consent, given when you sign in.

How long we keep it

Free cases are deleted automatically 90 days after you last used them. If you buy a pack or instruct HK Law, the case becomes part of the firm's client file and is kept as the law requires for advocates' files.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your data, and you can delete a free case yourself from the case page. Write to service@hklaw.co.ke. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

Security

Photos are stored outside the public website and are shown only to you and to HK Law staff working on your case. SMS messages from us never mention the charge.
